Where is Cara now? NYC for a week, then down to Washington, DC and right back on up again. An apple a day as they say!

The Joys of Sssssssssssssss...olitude & Great Taste.

Miami's Design District, habitual glasses of Rose & WHET appetites...

Oct 26, 2010

Monday. What a FABULOUS Monday. Picked up my rental and was free to roam the streets of South Florida. Alone. I love driving, alone. Riding, alone. Walking, alone. Even dining, alone. There’s something about having indirect sounds around you, and nothing else. Your mind, can flow - Free and undisturbed, as it should, every now and again. Not many people have my contact numbers. Only Facebook and email. (Yes, you should feel special if you have it. NO, you should not publicize it on Facebook. I have a freakish way of finding out things. Just warning…) I feel more at peace, when I control communication, on my time. I only keep a cell on me when necessary. I have 4 different ones, for different countries, yet…they’re better described as paper weights.

If you take out the auditory sense – the concentration used for conversation – your mind has room to relax, say, “Ahhhhh” and just kick back and get to know itself. It also allows you to really take in the world around you. Constant chatter, is constant chatter. Noise. Calm the soul, take a break from communication and ringing phones. Release yourself and discover the beauty within the present that surrounds you. It’s a sweet place, trust me.

Back to my day…

Headed down to Miami’s Design District to grab a bite, enjoy habitual glasses of Rose, and catch up with my dear friend, Nisi. I met her in the Bahamas about, 3-4 years ago? I remember the way she stood out from the crowd, just by walking through it and helping her set up a Facebook account. (I’m still waiting on residuals from all my recruits) Ever since then, she’s been an irreplaceable addition to my life. An extraordinary individual and my secret writing muse, with the most captivating blue eyes and energy – beautifully unique and intoxicating with the strength of a bull, yet drapes you so tenderly, you’re buzzed from head to toe. Yes, all that...and then some!

She’s the owner of NIBA Home. I’ve always wanted to “showcase” her store because, like its owner, IT’S AMAZING! A “MUST SEE” if you’re in need of spicing up your home décor with something SPECTACULAR. With its ever expanding network of design talent and fine artists, NIBA Home is the caviar to your home furnishing palate. As the Miami City Editor for Metropolitan Home Magazine for the past 15 years, you can rest assured, that you'll be in GREAT hands.

Here are a few pics to WHET your appetite.

There's a LOT more, to this day. But I'll leave the remainder, as a separate entry. (busy day/night, bed at 3AM, up at 7:30AM...brain's slightly fried and in no mood to write. Heading back to bed for a mini power nap, then onto another busy day with a jammed packed South Florida social schedule.) Let's call this, Part I of II. The Calm Before the Storm.

Until I get the "Storm" written and published, check out NIBA's website. www.nibahome.com, or just stop by. 39 NE 39th Street, Miami.

"Goodnight" all.

**11:41AM, still up and getting picked up in 5 mins. No rest for the WICKED! Especially ones that make a career out of it! ha ha C'est la vie!!!!**
